Driving through the Precambrian shield was not too exciting till just before Nipigon. However, couple of good things about today was lack of wind and better roads than Quebec. The drive was quiet and once again without any picture. I stopped once only to refuel in Hearest. Most of the drive was through old and currently producing gold, silver, molybdenum, etc. mining communities. There is not much to write today in terms of experience as there was none. I believe the amethyst mine here has opened up already for the season and tomorrow my primary target is to go there first before taking off for Kenora or hopefully further west.
